@mariahakinbi: ⚠️ if you’re investing through Fidelity, fidelity has 3 types of target date funds. the freedom funds and the freedom INDEX funds are different products with very different fees. I personally have the index version. you can start investing with even $1 - most brokerages (Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, etc) allow fractional shares, meaning you can invest $4, $1, $80.88 or whatever !! #investingforbeginners #PersonalFinance #RothIRA #beginnerinvestor #3fundportfolio

Does fidelity have a similar target date fund? And is this in your Roth? I’m a little confused

Is it mandatory to put $7,500 in a year? What if you only manage to put like half of the max amount, what will happen?

you explained the hidden layers really well. stuff like this is why some people feel more confident on frenzy, using what they know about TikTok trends instead of trying to parse every fund variation. its like betting on what tiktok trends will go viral, its just like trading stocks. lowk been a side hustle lately for me when im scrolling every night before i sleep lol

Is it redundant to invest in a target day fund if I already invest in an ETF like VOO?

So even when you deposit into your traditional Roth IRA account you still need to invest the money like a brokerage account?

I’m currently invested in the market through a firm. How can I take that money out to reinvest in index funds? I’m sick of the fees but am worried about losing money during the transfer.
