@itsuncled_brc: How to cut chain links for lag screws at Burning Man. For 3/8” lag screws I use 1/4” utility chain. Zinc or galvanized work, just don’t get hardened steel you’ll be hating trying to cut it. The 3/8 lag heads don’t pull through the 1/4” chain so no washers needed. 1/4” Chain runs about 10 links a foot and you’ll lose a link every cut, so be sure to factor that into your calcs. I use 42” bolt cutters, but 36” would probably work. If you only need a few sections, a smaller hardware store like Ace Hardware might cut ’em for you.
