As a former PATD obsessive, two things are forgotten or glossed over: 1. Ryro didn’t just DM Pete, he SPAMMED his LJ page like just spammed the shit out of it with their demos. Pete listened to them to make fun of him and then realized it was actually good. And 2. Jon walkers presence and influence in Ryan was a huuuuuuuge reason for Ryan’s pivot in taste and influence on the sound of P.O.

1) your take is the correct take lol 2) anything about the history of Panic! just reminds me of when I was working in a T-Mobile call center a few years ago and took a call from a customer who was an older man living in Nevada. We were chatting and got on a topic that prompted him to ask me if I knew of PATD and obvi yes, so he said Ryan Ross is his stepson and then went on to back up the validity of some rumors about Brendan 👀 I was like he might be lying but also the location adds up and why would some older dude know so much about PATD!? 😂
