neilly menahan is not the problem with salmon stocks it's seals . the drift net ban should never have happened.. there's plenty salmon around the coast and rivers are full of fish .

He should be in court. Our fishing stocks have been Decimated by gangsters. Not happy with their quota they want to fill the boat every trip. I was talking to a man in greystones. Of course anyone illegally killing the last of our now almost fully extinct Irish Wild salmon, should be prosecuted without fear or favour! However your location Dingle / Ballydavid is recognised as the Irish capital of salmon piracy - but alas it has a much darker and sinister form, namely murder, - which the few remaining law abiding inhabitants still have the duty to bring justice to the victim, and closure to his family and the the people of Kerry. The murder I refer to was of a crew member of a cargo ship ( Skyhope ) which having departed Limerick Port diverted into Fenit harbour from the Shannon Estuary, ostensibly to take fresh water aboard. This was in 1977 when the poor Irish west coast salmon millionaires were more plentiful than the leeches on the French Riviera. A great time was had by all until a scapegoat was named for the murder, which the Authorities treated as a joke and the cover up began!! The innocent Kerry murder victim, was from Valparaiso…. ‘Tháinig long Ó Valparaiso.
