@ericalzablon: To maintain the throttle within a stable range, typically around 750–850 rpm and in some engines around 900 rpm, the ECU needs to precisely control the amount of air entering the engine when the accelerator is closed. When the air conditioning is turned on, lights, the fan, or increased electrical load are applied, the engine receives an additional load; at that moment, the ECU must compensate by slightly increasing the air intake and, according to the system, also adjust the ignition time and injection to avoid a sudden drop in RPM. If the injection is correct, the spark plugs are in good condition, the injectors are working properly, and the air filter is new, but the IAC valve is dirty, stuck, or has carbon buildup in the tube, the ECU may order a throttle correction and the valve does not respond adequately. The result can be low RPMs, throttle oscillation, tendency to shut off when connecting the A/C, or very slow recovery after applying a load. Therefore, in systems that use IAC, it is not enough to just check fuel and ignition: the throttle body, air bypass tube, the IAC valve itself, and vacuum leaks must also be checked, and after cleaning, the throttle retraining procedure should be performed when the manufacturer requires it.
