Paced bottle feeding is a feeding method that helps mimic the natural flow of breastfeeding by allowing babies to control the pace of the feed. In this video, I start by offering air first rather than immediately filling the nipple with milk. This encourages baby-led feeding and helps prevent a continuous, fast flow of milk. Baby is positioned in a side-lying position, which supports a more physiologic feeding posture and can help babies better coordinate sucking, swallowing, and breathing. When transitioning from air to milk, I move the bottle and baby together to maintain positioning and minimize disruption to the feed.
