@flowstatefreedive: Nothing happens in my ears ⤵️ Soft palate control, part 2 👅 Loads of you asked about this after the last video, so hope this clears it up! The openings to your eustachian tubes sit above the soft palate, up in the nasal cavity. So if your soft palate is closed, air from your mouth has nowhere to go. You can push as hard as you like and your ears won’t feel a thing. For frenzel we want it open and relaxed, so air can travel from your mouth into the nasal cavity and up to your ears. Start by finding the closed position, it’s the easier one to feel: 🤢 think of a gag 🥱 or a yawn 🏋️ or that moment you strain to lift something heavy Feel something lift and seal at the back of your throat? That’s closed. Open is just... relaxed. Same as quietly breathing through your nose with your mouth shut. 🪞 Do it in front of a mirror and play with moving between the two. It feels strange at first, that’s normal, it’s not a muscle most people ever think about. One thing to watch: keep your tongue still and out of it. If you’re blocking the back of your mouth with your tongue, that’s a different thing entirely.
