I was training as an asst vet tech at an exotics hospital many many years ago. The goal was to become the tech. I lasted 3 mths. I loved the animals but the abuse of birds, turtles, rabbits etc I saw was horrendous. My mental health was declining daily, and the rage I felt wasn’t normal anymore. I wanted to pounce on some of these owners. Thank you for being a shining light for these beautiful creatures. You are a blessing. Prayers for Olive’s speedy recovery 🙏🏻🕊️

I rescued a blue fronted Amazon his name was Kaz. His owner didn’t let him out of the cage for 15 years, always yelling and cussing at him when he squawked. The owner smoked cigarettes inside too. That owner was my dad. My dad told me for my whole life to never go around Kaz cuz he bites. When I took him out of the cage for the first time we were instant buddies. Kaz was 7 years older than me he literally watched me grow up all the way until I had my first child. Kaz was a proud uncle. He died at 35 years old due to second hand smoke.
