As a survivor myself, please keep where you’re going/what your plan is incredibly private. After I finally left, my ex stalked me, eventually found where I lived and tried to break in during the night. I spent 40 minutes cowering in my lounge room saying to 000 “if you don’t get here soon you’re going to hear me die tonight”. Luckily the police did get there in time. Unfortunately it doesn’t always end with you leaving, and studies show (at least in Australia) that it’s the most dangerous time. So PLEASE be careful, be safe. I’m so proud of you, you deserve so so much more.
