Am I surprised? Not even remotely. If anything, this livestream was just another confirmation of something that has been painfully obvious for a very long time: the chemistry between these two is practically non-existent. That natural flow between two people, the ability to bounce off each other, keep a conversation alive without effort, share jokes, stories, thoughts, little references, comfortable silences…that feeling that two people genuinely have a lot to say to each other simply because they enjoy each other’s company… None of that is present in this livestream. So, what’s actually here then? Well… 🤣 75% exercise talk. 20% eating and talking about food. 5% singing. Basically, remove the gym from the equation and suddenly there isn’t much equation left. That’s it. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Not every friendship has to be incredibly deep. Not every pair of bandmates needs to be inseparable. And knowing someone for 13 years doesn’t automatically make them your “best friend.” People can care about each other, respect each other, have fun together in certain situations and still simply not have that effortless interpersonal chemistry people keep desperately trying to project onto them. In fact, that’s precisely why this livestream was so revealing. There was no concert choreography to hide behind, no dramatic slow motion, no romantic song playing over a clip and no shipper explaining what you were supposedly witnessing. They were simply sitting there, barely talking. The conversation repeatedly gravitated toward exercise because that is clearly an actual shared interest. Food naturally came into it because they were eating. They sang a little. Outside of that, awkward silence covered by the music in the background. Which, again, would be completely unremarkable if people didn’t constantly insist that we’re supposed to be witnessing some extraordinary, unmatched bond. And then there’s the timing🤭 Because, as I already said, the louder certain things become, the louder the damage control around them will become too. That’s why we got a livestream AND a mini vlog🤣 Right on cue. Call it whatever you want, but I’m certainly not going to ignore timing and patterns just because doing so would make someone else’s preferred narrative easier to swallow. I said to expect more content and more noise, and here we are. And ironically, the more content we get, the less convincing the fantasy becomes. Because a carefully selected “moment” can be interpreted in a thousand different ways. You can take a look, someone standing next to someone else, a gym clip or ten seconds from a concert and build whatever story you want around it. Add dramatic music, remove everything that happened immediately before and after, slow it down to 0.25x and voilà: social media has its next “proof” 🤣 But give two people enough uninterrupted time together and the actual dynamic becomes much harder to manufacture through editing and interpretation. And what did this livestream actually show? Two people who obviously know each other well after spending years in the same band, who are perfectly capable of hanging out together and who happen to share one very obvious common interest: working out. Nothing scandalous. Nothing negative. But nothing positive either. Nothing remotely resembling the incredible chemistry, supposedly inseparable “best friendship” or mysterious deeper connection that some people desperately want everyone else to see. All I can say is that instead of reinforcing a certain narrative, this livestream did the exact opposite🤭 There’s nothing wrong with their dynamic, it simply looks remarkably ordinary compared to the extraordinary relationship people have spent years trying to sell us…but apparently accepting something that ordinary is much harder than constructing an entire parallel universe out of gym sessions, carefully selected clips and five-second interactions🤦‍♀️
