Or make laws to where everyone has to grow resources. Make every building be able to hold a garden, recycle everything. Let people die off if they get sick. It sucks but what other option so you don’t have to kill people physically

SPOILERS: This is a short sci-fi film called Tunnelen (or The Tunnel), produced in 2016. This video actually basically shows the whole movie (it's a short film, not a full length movie.) In a future where the population is randomly reduced using a deadly tunnel, a family is driving home when the tunnel closes on the people in front of them. While waiting for the tunnel to reopen, the son befriends a little girl his age in the car next to him. Eventually the tunnel reopens and they all slowly enter. Just as they reach the exit, the tunnel begins to close again. Our main family narrowly manages to avoid getting trapped in the tunnel, but the boy realizes that the little girl's family was not so lucky. That's where the film ends. The general idea of the film was to show that sometimes people find themselves on an unstoppable journey that ultimately can only end in death. The creator of the movie compared it (as in, the message) to Stephen King's "The Long Walk".
