@kikialessit1d: Type 1 diabetes is a tough ride, and some days and nights it can feel completely exhausting. This video was taken after one of those nights where my blood sugars were high and just wouldn’t come down, and I was up for hours trying to manage everything and feeling completely overwhelmed. People see the numbers, the injections, the devices, and the alarms, but they don’t always see the frustration, fear, lack of sleep, and emotional exhaustion that can come with constantly having to think about your blood sugar. It’s okay to be upset. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to feel like you’re tired of having to fight something that you never asked for. But one thing I’m so grateful for is having people around me who love me and help pull me through the hard moments. My family may not be able to take my diabetes away, but their comfort, patience, and support mean more than they’ll ever know. If you’re living with type 1 diabetes, please remember that you don’t have to go through every difficult moment alone. Surround yourself with people who listen, care, comfort you, and remind you that even on the hardest nights, you can get through it.
