He is named after Thowra! Also born in a huge storm and was born palomino by chance. cc's Thowras flame.

In the books Thowra was born pale cream, not palomino. His coat eventually appeared silver (hence the name). The horse used in this film is not the Thowra of my childhood imagination :(
