I just moved to a new city, so ..new friends. I made what I thought a good friend, I was a listening ear and shoulder to cry on when she had a messy break up and sent her encouraging texts every morning. Then she asked me to cat sit for 10 days and I jumped to say SURE. I bent over and backwards to be there and leave her place squeaky clean when I left. Apparently what I did wasn’t enough for her. So she just went MIA and i never knew what actually bothered her. I’m sure it was petty. Little did she know that I’m not that kind of friend, I don’t take cold shoulders, I don’t take avoiding hard conversations and I don’t take ungratefulness. It’s easy for me to cut people off, but I also sometimes feel guilty because… maybe I should be the bigger person? I just don’t have the energy for people who aren’t willing to cultivate a solid friendship 😔
