It’s so easy to be on the outside looking in and placing judgement on others. My husband who has since passed away was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia although at the time when we first started dating and eventually married I had no clue…I’m not at all clinical nor had I ever experienced someone who struggled with that severity of an illness. I have since come to learn that his was progressive and while yes there were some signs in the beginning I didn’t see it. It wasn’t until I separated from him did things get really scary. My priority was our children and our safety. I never stopped advocating for him and doing all I could to get him help but it’s incredibly hard and damn near impossible to force an adult to receive the overwhelming care needed especially if they don’t want or think they need it. Ultimately his illness was a contributing factor in his passing. All this to say tho I don’t blame him…he was sick. My heart hurts for our children and for all the things he has and will continue to miss out on. He loved his kiddos but his illness took that away from him.

It’s easy for people to judge behind a screen when they’ve never dealt with someone in a true psychosis.

Damn that’s rough man. I can’t imagine having a family and children with someone and things are going normal and then your whole fucking life is flipped and now this. Insane. I feel for you and hope she can get some help that helps! Is this shit permanent?

bro you don't have to continue to try to explain to crazy people. people don't understand how the mental illness of someone you love can affect you and no matter how much of a good person you are there's only so much that you can deal with for your own mental will being

Has it been confirmed to be postpartum psychosis? I have a friend whose ex showed these signs shortly after birth but it carried on for years. Eventually she was diagnosed with schizophrenia

She has a history of methamphetamine abuse? The last sentence of the first highlighted part. This is all so sad. You are so strong. Thank you for educating us.
