Swipe through to save this Acute Abdomen Cheat Sheet Part 2! 💾👇 1️⃣ Acute Pancreatitis with Peripancreatic Fluid What to look for: Hypoechoic, swollen pancreas with ill-defined borders, peripancreatic fluid collections in the lesser sac or retroperitoneum, and loss of normal echogenic texture. 2️⃣ Splenic Rupture What to look for: Subcapsular hematoma (crescent-shaped hypoechoic collection along the splenic margin), parenchymal laceration, and free fluid in the splenorenal space or left flank. 3️⃣ Diverticulitis What to look for: Bowel wall thickening >4mm at the site of tenderness, hyperechoic fatty stranding surrounding the affected segment, and probe tenderness directly over the finding. 4️⃣ Hepatic Hematoma What to look for: Subcapsular or intraparenchymal hypoechoic/complex collection, disruption of the liver capsule in severe cases, and free fluid in Morrison’s pouch. 💡 Want to master Emergency Ultrasound?
