today’s Milestone Monday is for the 8-10 month olds! It is SO important to know your child’s language milestones so they don’t get delayed with communication. Don’t let anybody tell you to wait and see. Go get an evaluation from early intervention so you know for sure. Here’s some ideas on how you can help your 8-10 month old’s with their language development: - encourage them to use gestures to communicate. Model waving, reaching, pointing, shaking head, etc! - when something falls model the exclamation “uh oh!” - read books with your child and label the pictures they point to - model and encourage them to sign simple signs like milk, mom, dad, more, etc. - take conversational turns when they are jabbering!
