I love doctors so much truly life saving but I wish it was cheaper/easier for us to get second options or have doctors really really trust what we say abt our bodies

This boggles my mind as a type one diabetic.. most people when they are diagnosed are in DKA which can cause extreme weightloss. I was considered “malnourished” when I was diagnosed due to how much weight I had lost. Weight and how active you are have absolutely nothing to do with your ability or inability to develop type one diabetes, it is an autoimmune disease. To diagnose someone with type one diabetes it can be as simple as a finger prick to check blood glucose levels or urine sample to see if there is glucose. This doctor honestly needs to be reported if he cannot diagnose a disease that has such textbook symptoms. I am so sorry for your friend.

Ahhh I’m so sorry! I was diagnosed as type 1 at 26 and the first endo i met with said it wasn’t possible because of the age of diagnosis so it has to be something else. Def want to support ❤️
