But do you test on the same server as prod even though it’s untested code? I have a separate similar server for this instead of branching. I only branch when I work multiple streams with 15 agents so nobody gets of the way of each other.

I often work in branches most of the time, but I want my profile to show all the 80-100 commits in a day I have every day so I use main as a branch and have a new branch called deployed or pub, and use those to connect to vercel or any hosting.

So I develop locally on my staging environment and once I am happy I push it to prod-mirror which pulls from dev (staging). Did work flawlessly so far. I agree environment needs to be quite similar.
