oh this hurts as someone who does car audio for a living you are missing a massive massive amount of information here. your iems couldn't compare to a proper setup in a vehicle. the fader built into your vehicle is nowhere close to a dsp with all pass filters, proper time alignment, eq, phase correction, etc. your missing a world of enjoyment in your vehicle.while pretty much nobody corrects for rear seats there are actually 2 seat sq setups that use a split center channel with a dsp to make a good stage for both driver and passenger. I'd invite you to go check out a car audio sound quality competition and get some demos from people, might open a whole new world to you.

100%. Fighting reflections and time alignment as well as certain cars having cancellations at certain frequencies. However, it can be done but it is not cheap😂.

dunno about now, but years ago there were plenty of car audio modification garages that do SQ (sound quality) mods. the complete package including taking off all panels (roof, doors, floor) to install dampening material. then they really tune each speakers with high quality dsp headunit. of course the tuning is for the driver position, as it's impossible to tune for all positions.

question about IEM's, i read an article about them on the internet with pros and cons, one of the cons was that if you use them, then your prone to lots of ear infections. is this an over exaggeration or nah?

people do sound quality setups all the time in cars if anything competition in those classes are getting more popular, it's typically set/aimed for the driver seat and the difference distances of the speakers and all of the weird resonances are fix with a dsp (time alignment for the distance and equing for the resonance)
