I think Faye like many ppl has gone through the whole comp-het thing. I read 2 interviews of hers from back in the day since that relationship was semi public. 2 years in he asked her to marry him, and faye said no as she wanted to be able to continue with her career, and after that she pushed through 3 more years, but it ended up badly as he has grown really jelly of her so that was the breaking point for faye.
