Signed on 7 August 2026, the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement establishes a mutual-defence framework between the three countries. A key provision states that an armed attack against one of the three countries will be regarded as an attack against all three. The agreement also aims to strengthen defence cooperation and coordination between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the agreement is defensive in nature and is not directed against any specific country.
