Oom smiled softly, a tiny, mysterious dimple appearing on her cheek as she brought Bam's knuckles to her lips for a sweet kiss. "Just a little bit, Bambi, mostly whenever we make love. I keep feeling like there's supposed to be a piece of silver-gold resting right here against my skin when our hands entwine." Bam’s heart swelled with deep affection, though a soft sigh escaped her lips. "I didn't bring our silver-gold rings with us, baby. They're back home in our house, safe in my jewelry box. I was so focused on making sure you were resting that I forgot to pack them." Oom giggled sweetly, lacing her fingers with Bam's anyway. "That's okay. When we go home, you have to put mine back on properly. Deal?" "Deal," Bam smiled warmly, leaning in to kiss Oom's cheek. "I promise." Later that afternoon, after getting dressed warmly in heavy winter coats, the lovers headed out into the picturesque streets of Grindelwald for another date. They walked hand-in-hand through the snow-dusted town, taking photos, admiring local woodcrafts, and stopping by a quiet outdoor market where vendor booths sold hot spiced cocoa. While Bam was busy paying the vendor for two mugs of cocoa and turning her back for just a moment, Oom caught sight of a small artisan shop down a side street. Eager to buy a surprise gift for Bam, Oom slipped away quietly without saying a word, disappearing around the corner. When Bam turned around holding the hot mugs, her smile instantly evaporated. "Oom?" Bam called out, looking around the crowded square. No answer. Ten minutes passed, then thirty, then nearly an hour. Panic seized Bam completely. Her trauma from the accident, the fear of losing Oom, and the agonizing memories of Oom missing flashed through her mind in a terrifying cascade. She ran frantically through the icy streets, her voice trembling as she shouted Oom's name, her heart pounding violently against her ribs. Finally, near the edge of the market, Bam spotted Oom walking back casually, holding a small paper bag behind her back. "Bambi! Look what I..." "Where were you?!" Bam yelled, her voice cracking as she rushed over and grabbed Oom's shoulders firmly. Her eyes were bloodshot, filled with pure terror and rising anger. "Do you have any idea what you just did?! You vanished! You didn't say a word!" Oom blinked, startled and frightened by the sudden harsh tone. "Bam, I just went to buy...." "I don't care what you bought!" Bam cried out, tears spilling over her flushed cheeks as her hands shook uncontrollably. "You just disappeared! You know what happened to you! You know how terrified I am of losing you again! How could you just walk away from me like that?!" Bam was always soft with Oom, but right now, she was deeply shaken and genuinely sulking. The walk back to the chalet was quiet. Bam held Oom's hand tightly, unable to let her go but Oom could feel the tension radiating from her and knew her wife was still mad.
