@eastcoasttags: Our “Back Then” tshirt was inspired by me realizing I’m finally the representation I need to see growing up. It wasn’t until I was in the 6th or 7th grade when I finally saw an openly queer adult. She was my English teacher and one day she casually mentioned her wife in throw away comment about her weekend. It wasn’t the focus of the story, but it meant everything to me. She had a wife! And it wasn’t a big deal! That meant one way maybe all the fear and self loathing and confusion I was going through as a young Baptist Christian wouldn’t feel like such a big deal. A small moment to her, gave me worlds of hope. That means now I live everyday making sure I’m being true to myself and showing up as someone young Michelle needed to see. #subtlepride #SmallBusiness #wlw #Pride #traditionaltattoo
