I mean this in a kind non judgemental way .. might check for depression.. check your thyroid and iron levels that's concerning and there is more then ADHD going on you've not fully been treated if your still barely functioning

You do have to do a little work on your own. If you push yourself, it will be easier. No meds will magically make you do what you need to do. Put a plan in place.

focalin does wonders for me. I don't feel drained, I can think straight without being overwhelmed by 1000 thoughts and feel more driven to get things done because it helps push down the anxiety that leads to decision paralysis.

I think that means you're on the wrong type of medicine or the wrong dosage. please consult your physician to try and find the proper medicine. if you're on stimulants that are doing double work, like me who has ADHD and Narcolepsy type 1, then it's a long and neverending story.

For me adderall made me a productive machine at first I got a "high" from how accomplished I felt, after a couple of weeks my house was cleaner, responsibilities done, but I felt completely empty, like my life had turned from task to task instead of living. It jumped from constant stress and paranoia I was forgetting something and messing up, to now a robot just completing task. Wellbutrin has really helped me with that emptiness and now my mess dont feel as amazing as they did at first but it is a much better experience. I still struggle with both sides of the spectrum but the overall quality of life has improved so much. Talk to your doctor seek help if what youre doing isn't helping

that is my experience on concerta..... but im not comfortable asking for other meds cus i already had to fight to get this, and i am so unbelievably exhausted through the day that i dont know what itd do withought its help

What I tried to tell people is, it puts me at baseline. Normal. For people who don’t have ADHD, but take stimulant. It makes them wired.

Haha I have to start focusing on what I want to focus on before I take my meds. I was diagnosed super late due to going back to school in my 40’s. If I don’t focus on what I need to focus on, I’m taking a really good nap after taking my meds. If I can remember to take them 😆

That’s not what it does for me. You may need different meds for have a different issue. Mine quiet down all the noise in my brain, they allow me to focus on 1 task at a time instead of 14.

My adhd meds make me aware & make me less of a bitch so there is that ! lol and I actually can get stuff done. I still don’t want to but at least I can finish what I start lol

I was on it in my teens for a few short years. My parents told me they only made me worse. never been on them since. currently 42 and have no issues at all. I've learned to slow my mind control the thoughts. we have our IQs than normal people. we're very good problem solvers. we handle stress extremely well. you literally have to just and think and organize yourself and your problems will become solved all by yourself. very simple. I learned this in my twenties I'd say is when it clicked.

Off meds I feel like my brain has 100 tabs open, on meds it closes just enough of those tabs where I don’t feel so overwhelmed and over stimulated. I think people think my meds make me hyper, but they don’t. I’m just not in a paralyzed state anymore and can actually do things.

for me it was different. I "feel" like static on an old tv. the noice, the image. with medication it calms down to a normal picture and the noice is almost gone.
