@saltsugarandstories: Good Sunday morning, y’all! ☀️🤍 It is 9:00 in the morning and I am JUST waking up, which is practically lunchtime in my world. 😂 But Kenny and I stayed on Live with y’all until ONE O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING! We laughed, sang, listened to old music and just had the best time hanging out with our friends. ❤️ So this morning we’re moving a little slower. 😂 I am hungry this morning so I decided to make the French toast my mamma used to make when I lived with her. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated, just GOOD. 🍞 EASY FRENCH TOAST 🥚 Eggs, about 1 per person 🥛 Milk 🤍 Vanilla 🍞 Plain white bread 🧈 Butter ✨ Powdered sugar Beat your eggs REALLY well with a little milk and vanilla. And I mean beat them better than I did, unless you want yourself a little surprise scrambled-egg spot in your French toast. 😂 Dip your bread into the egg mixture, put it in a hot skillet and brown it on both sides. Then add butter and a good dusting of powdered sugar while it’s warm. THAT’S IT. Now you could use brioche because it’s thicker and holds up little better, and I’m sure it is wonderful, but I’m a plain ol’ white bread kinda girl. 😂🍞 I’m I’m making this in my new little electric skillet from the TikTok Shop this morning and LOVED it! Perfect for something like this. And that’s it. Sometimes the simplest food brings back some good memories. ❤️ You grab on to the ones you can. 🥰 Now tell me… how did YOUR mamma make French toast?
