I used to work at a police training centre where they trained the dogs and one of the best things I have ever witnessed was a police dog finding a tiny SIM card on the other side of a huge field under about 3 inches of mud. It was a training exercise and they make it really difficult on purpose to really test the dogs! I was amazed x

My human brain can not comprehend sniffing something out that is under water. How does Saul smell through grass, dirt, fish, wet stones etc etc etc. what if there are other human items around? Can he sniff this out in a lake full of people?

What I don’t understand is how they are clever enough not to trace the scent back to the secondary item containing the smell (eg, the thing you used to introduce the scent to the dog). Very clever to find only the missing scent

In Costa Rica one of these dogs took 4 of us adults and 2 kids on horseback across a highway in the mountains, across steams and back no human 😳 beautiful !!
