However, even if we only look at #tax rates, there’s no doubt that the #American system is worse. That’s why we need radical ##taxreform! NOTE: if you’re an employee, you pay half into the payroll tax system, and your employer pays the other half. If you’re self-employed, you bear the full cost but get a deduction for half. It’s a nuanced conversation I couldn’t cover in this video, I was trying to get the point across that the payroll tax is regressive.
