@ialertweather: Sunday, August 9, 2026. In southeastern Wisconsin, two Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect, one for Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties and one for Milwaukee and Waukesha counties, covering roughly 1.28 million people combined, including Milwaukee, Muskego and Mukwonago. Radar-indicated motion shows a cluster of thunderstorms moving east-northeast at around 40 mph. One storm near Big Bend is projected to reach Muskego by about 11:20 AM CDT. Another, near Burlington, is intensifying on radar. Lightning has been detected with both storms, with well over a hundred strikes near each in the last 15 minutes. The National Weather Service says torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding, and advises not driving through flooded roadways. A Special Weather Statement, not drawn on radar, also covers a broader stretch of the area, including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington counties, where additional thunderstorms near Eagle and Jackson are producing frequent lightning and heavy rain. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 2:00 PM CDT for southeastern Wisconsin. #Wisconsin #SevereWeather #Storms #Milwaukee
