I truly don’t understand the hate comments. I’m not Jewish -but Miriam and her family following these rules literally has zero impact on my life. And I think people forget this is how she was raised- she doesn’t know any different. For those of us that don’t live this way it seems challenging or “strange” (I don’t mean that in a mean way…just different than our experiences) but this is all she knows. And she is HAPPY to follow these rules. Anyone that doesn’t like it doesn’t have to do it. I wouldn’t do it but I can respect those that do.

Except electricity wasn’t in existence when these “rules” were set into place.. so isn’t this a matter of interpretation? You mean Jesus didn’t believe in evolution or doing things that bettered your life? I find this all so bizarre.

I still think that requires an awful lot of blind trust. I just can’t trust people like that. Even in the best of circumstances, somebody is going to make a poor decision. Whether I have things that are valuable or or not, they’re still my things, and I just can’t trust that someone won’t just come in and help themselves to things that don’t belong to them. I admire you for having that kind of trust.

but the door-locks works always with electricity. it doesn't matter if you in or outside the room. so using the door-handle to open the electical closed door ist ok, but using the key to open the electrical door is not ok??

I’m still curious about safety. A maid having access to your room via a master key is WAY different than just leaving it unlocked all day and readily accessible to random people (even if you aren’t inside and valuables are locked up). Just seems odd that someone could walk by and push open any door they choose 😳🫣
