These mangrove “lazy river” channels aren’t technically rivers. They’re shallow tidal creeks and lagoons that wind through mangrove wetlands, with the water level and flow driven mainly by the tides. We call it a “lazy river” because as the tide moves in and out, that tidal current creates a gentle flow through the channels that can float you along in a similar way.
