To make a 400whp vb all you need is a intake and a very good flowing catback and intermediate pipe. And a good tuner on 🌽. No fuel pump or nothing. Getting tuned by boost control at this second for it.

For the price, you don’t need to do much and it’s not that big of a challenge to do yourself. Assume you bought the car new at about 35k, you can maybe build it mostly using stock block and upgraded internals for 5k or less. Then the STi swap is 10k, looking at 50k cars. In comparison there is nothing that can be like reliable like the FA24, have the space and daily capacity of a wrx, and the cheap maintenance and repairs of a Subaru. The only ones who can compete at 50k, power wise, would be big V8s, some BMWs (M cars/B58s) which can push into high power numbers, but will never have the space, and how cheap repairs are on this car vs more expensive cars.
