Do not set a price on the Buddhist Dharma. If you were to set one, its value would be immeasurably high. In ancient times, when the Buddha Sakyamuni took various sentient births, he offered thousands of butter lamps using his own body as fuel just to receive a single verse of the Dharma, among many other great sacrifices. There is no comparison to this. Nowadays, the money given by individuals to perform virtuous deeds and achieve their personal goals seems to have become a mere formality. It has come to resemble paying a salary or fee, as if delegating the full responsibility to clear away one's bad misfortunes and perform remedies for an entire year in a single day. It is quite different from what individuals used to do themselves. Although there is much more to write, there is no more space left.

When you spend 100K on Rimdro, 200K on Lochoe, or 5K on Lhabsang, do you invite everyone as your guest? If you are talking about the actual cost of performing these religious activities, it’s not necessarily that expensive. For example, for monks, 8 monks × Nu. 1,200 is around Nu. 9,600, for Lama ×3 3600, and even if we consider food for the whole day, around Nu. 20,000 should be more than enough in many cases. The money you choose to spend on important guests, special arrangements, or other personal expenses is your choice. But please don’t put all of that expense under the name of religion and say Buddhism is expensive.

as I am a monk I am saying you that no need to spend that much money Caz there is no fix rate that you have to give that much if you have you can if not ones you go and ask to someone monk and share your problem even to me I will do it in free. For rimdro or monks, it’s honestly not that much, because I do it every year at my home. Without guests, around 50K is enough to manage everything. Most of the extra expenses come because of the guests. So, please think carefully before backbiting or criticizing monks or lamas. In the end, without them, we can’t do everything on our own. When you first came into this world, it began with things like Lama-Lhasang, Lungta, and so on. And when you leave this world behind, it also ends with the lamas through Tse Zhung Ne. So, think carefully before speaking. I’m not saying this out of hatred or anger—this is just my humble opinion. For the monks, lamas, and the rimdro itself, there is no need to spend that much. It is mainly because of the guests that you were need to spend more.
