@t_nutrition_fitness: So what are you going to do about it? Like many things in life, you can either complain about the situation, accept it, or actively look to change it. Us fat people should be treated like humans, but we’re not entitled to being seen as just as attractive as everyone else. Also, as a fat guy, attitude can make a HUGE difference. Outgoing and friendly, with a smile, can open people up instantly.

I also disagree with the framing that people think it’s a “moral” failing. I’ve never seen someone come out and say a fat person is immoral or evil for being fat, they just point out it’s unhealthy or aesthetically unattractive. Sometimes this is done in an overly rude and unnecessary way, but the hyperbolic speech about moral failings is a little over the top in my opinion.

saw a guy i know on twitter the other day explaining that he had an incredibly restricted diet (in addition to a deficit) and that he was walking 15k steps a day and losing zero weight. he also said he was religious about this EXCEPT for weekends and happy hours for his gf’s days off. so… 4/7 days (minimum) he’s binging without remorse. he sincerely believed the takeaway was restriction does nothing. and that’s without getting into being really really bad at calorie counting.

People choose to smoke, even if it makes their skin wrinkle, hurts their health, and makes them smell like cigarettes. People DO choose to do things that make others think differently of them.

Yes everyone deserves equal respect but she does spreads misinformation when she says they eat normal amounts of food & that ‘fat body’ have other causes which is completely false 99.9 % of the time. This can affect people trying to lose weight or eat normally & can be so discouraging

I was fat, and it wasn’t necessarily my choice as a child, that was the terrible parenting my parents did. Zero effort into teaching us about health and balance, But as an adult, staying fat is a choice. There are resources, nutrition resources, free exercise options and medications if you need them…

It's a choice. Not liking it doesn't change that.

it literally is a moral failing. Gluttony is a sin for a reason. Youre litterally consuming more resources than you need.

Everyone should have the freedom to do what they want to their body. If your life is so boring you got nothing better to do than to comment on other people bodies, I'm sorry. (Not aimed at TNF, general statement.)

I spent a decade being fat before deciding to do something about it. If you have a high food drive it’s an absolute nightmare to deal with. And because of that it’s definitely a tougher choice for some people. But now that GLPs exist it’s more of a choice than ever.

it's sort of like addiction - i didn't choose my substance use disorder BUT i did choose to use drugs. i still have substance use disorder but because i made the choice to get treatment and become sober i'm concidered a recovering addict. i'll always live with the cravings but i make the choice every single day not to give in. most people don't want to struggle with over-eating but they're still making the choice to keep eating instead of doing something about it.

I'm at the more extreme end of being fit, and I am judged so much for it. People judge others. It happens. People project their feelings.

And it's not something negative about people that get judged, there are people who sees someone like TNF as arrogant, narcissistic, and aggressive just because he has size.
