The fact that you’re thinking of these things and having conversations shows you’re miles ahead of where you think you are. You’ll see how fast you change once your baby arrives. It’s a huge motivator 🩷🩷 you could start now and you’d be totally fine!

Also, I think something that is so important to talk about with your partner before kids is (would you vaccinate, circumcise, all that health care stuff) I see a lot of families struggle with agreeing on this stuff and I think maybe it wasn’t talked about before because it wasn’t really thought of. Which I totally get!!! ❤️❤️Love you faith!!!!!

Have you considered therapy? To prepare mentally, and to have support throughout and after pregnancy? I had a really emotional pregnancy and it THREW me into postpartum depression & anxiety and one of the best ways I could manage and heal was therapy. I also use meds but I remember you mentioning something about not being sure about taking meds everyday. Sorry if you're already in therapy and I'm just blabbing, but a therapist could really help you with everything you're talking about too.

Great questions! Also know I spent my whole pregnancy learning things every single day for hours and I still wasn’t ready you’ll never be ready until your baby is born and you figure things out yourself and with your husband there truly is no preparation every baby is different and you will learn your baby and what to do! I had a baby earlier into marriage than I ever wanted or planned I was 22 and I wanted to wait like 6 more years haha but we felt peace from the Lord and Him telling us to start a family so we were obedient to that and it was worth it

As far as food, implement healthy habits early! Teach them to be confident in themselves so when those unsolicited comments or statements ever do come up in daily life they can know to disregard it bc they know they’re healthy and confident in that.

Postpartum is HARD. I love that it’s necessary for you to talk about it and learn about it before having children. Go to therapy because I quit a few weeks before going into labor since I felt great. I would have benefitted from going while postpartum! Also talking about time you will be solo parenting and things is important too!

I had no idea how hard postpartum was going to be until I was in the midst of it. It’s incredible, but the first year was the hardest year of my life. Being open to asking for help is so important. 🩷 it can feel really lonely and isolating even when you have a village of people there to support you. I love your idea of having a set amount of hours to do the things you still love. Taking care of yourself is so important. 💝

Such important questions! Discussing how you will navigate extended family implication is important too (when do you feel ready to allow babysitting, sleepovers, etc)

I think this great, if my husband and I talked about these topics and had the knowledge to do so - it probably would've been a bit of a smoother ride when we became new parents. End of day nothing can truly prepare you and you'll be thrown for a curve even when you said "this is how I'll handle things" or "how do we navigate conflict" it's one of those situations you just have to experience to know, but I think you're way ahead by having these convos and being open w communication is amazing ❤️bc that's the real prep - knowing how to communicate through the hurdles you didn't see coming

Working out was super important for my mental health prior to kids and finding a gym with childcare included is HUGE - plus the kids love going to the gym with me now
