Curve-cutting hack 〰️〰️    Scoring and breaking a series of progressively-deeper curves leading up to the final desired one will allow you to cut curves you might've initially been afraid to try.    Practicing this technique with many different curve shapes and depths is a great way to not only hone your glass-cutting skills, but to also to understand exactly where the limit is between shapes that are really difficult to cut vs. shapes that are actually impossible to cut.    Of course, machines like grinders and ring saws can be much easier, more efficient routes to this same end, but (at the risk of sounding old-fashioned) I believe mastering the more difficult, analog method of a skill BEFORE transitioning to a quicker, tech-assisted method results in a more capable, well-rounded artisan.    This brief excerpt is from Lesson 3 of STAINED GLASS BASICS (an instructional course I created with @Oceanside Glass)!
