My Debt Payoff Journey :
The moment that pushed me into action was when my husband came back inside after loading the trailer and could barely walk. His back went out again. After multiple surgeries on his knees and shoulders, seeing him hunched over like that shattered me.
He’s talked about selling his business and stepping away from the physical labor for years, but financially we couldn’t make it happen. I’d been watching your journey from my other page, quietly wishing I had the courage to start.
I’ve always considered myself an introvert, so putting myself out there — especially sharing something as personal as our finances — was the scariest thing I’ve ever done. I didn’t know what to expect, and I was terrified of being judged or having people be mean. My anxiety has always gotten the best of me. I overthink everything and let all the negativity and what‑ifs sit in my head until they feel bigger than they are.
But that morning, something in me snapped. Watching him walk in like that, in pain again, made everything crystal clear. I sat down, wrote out every bit of our debt, and created my page. I originally planned to stay faceless, but I didn’t know if people would take me seriously — so I showed my face and committed fully. I still have a long way to go but my mindset has completely changed and I am determined to make this happen, for him, my kids and my grandbabies.
