Honestly I do both, most of the time I will leave it as just the outline so people can shade out the design or color it how they want rather than assuming they can’t make any changes. However, I will shade out designs I’ve personally put together so clients get an idea of what I want to do and if they like it they can get it

being honest I never realized that when just the outline is posted they get shaded after and now a lot more artists flash makes sense to me and im very disappointed i didn't go to more flash events

An apprenticeship would have taught you to do both. There’s a difference between flash and line drawings.

I assume if it's just outlines then the flash is JUST the outline and no further detail or color available for the same price etc

Mmmh~ I think not everyone can see a possible outcome of the result if u post it unshaded it might not get noticed as much. For me it's easier to see your vision with the shading. Even though I can somewhat understand where the shading supposed to be 😊

If you’re doing it all digitally, color it and drop your saturation! Close enough for an idea at least 😂

I def prefer full flash. But what I hate most is when people will promote their “flash” and it’s just images with a filter on it with maybe a frame or some other elements.

These comments are so interesting to me, truly. I've been tattooing a little over 18 years but only just now getting a social media presence. I've just always hated it but that's where tattooing is at now. Anyway, I post drawing ALL. THE. TIME. And no one is ever interested. I'm now learning that maybe so many people are thinking I'm just offering the linework? I will be the first to say I am absolutely naive to all this so I really am trying to learn lol

Personally when I make flash I like to fully render what the final image will be so the customer knows what their in for and it’s easy for me to use as the reference as well
