Jools is a non passing transgender woman. This is a completely different conversation.

If this is about Jools, you are missing a key part of the conversation, and it can't be ignored. As a trans woman, Jools faces the barrier of transphobia in corporate America.

Jools doesn’t strike me as someone who has ever had a corporate job.

She kept saying “I’m not above getting a job” to the point where it was obvious she felt she was above getting a regular job.

SDR/BDR position are alwaaaaays in demand, especially with AI. Sales jobs would hire anyone with a pulse

She literally is talking about girls who were corporate, started influencing, influencing didn’t work out, and then they are struggling to find their way “back into corporate“. Does that sound like jools? You guys need to pay attention. Just love to be angry about nothing. She wasn’t saying that Jools should get a corporate job. She brought up jools to introduce the topic.

I think it’s very clear OP is using the Jools thing as a jumping off point to discuss a larger topic, as she often does with other topic matters in her other videos btw, not talking about Jools directly whatsoever. Like yes very obviously there are other nuances in this job market & economy fucking obviously than the single one point she brought up but she’s talking about how this one variable can affect lots of people in getting a job

Getting a job is not hard. Getting a low-skill, entry job is hard and oversaturated. Go to college, get a degree beyond a bachelors and a lot of doors suddenly open.

ppl are being purposefully dense in these comments rachel is obv talking generally about the convo that jools' situation sparks. not what jools herself should do

this is not the take you think it is. there is more context to Jools’ situation that make it harder for her to get any job because on the country we live in right now.

It’s crazy for them to have such a huge following and can’t make enough money for themselves. I don’t understand.

This probably also depends on what field you are working in because no job has ever made me disclose my social media pages. My chief of staff once asked me about it because I came across her fyp 😭 but in a personal way, not at all about how it affects my job (I also would barely qualify as a micro creator)

The most insane part is i keep seeing people with 2k followers being like “come with me to quit my corporate job to pursue my dreams”….in THIIIIIIS economy?

Are you guys even paying attention? She only brought up jools to introduce the topic of being a public facing person with the understanding that because your public facing, it will be harder to get some corporate jobs. She’s not trying to make the agreement that jools should get a corporate job.

Also the life of an influencer is so fleeting. Unless people have other forms of income long term the money being made as a creator will only last as long as they are relevant.

If she has experience I see the issue of not getting a job, but if there’s no prior experience get in line, work fast food or retail, just bc you were or are an influencer doesn’t make you better than us that are also struggling and don’t have 40k for dental procedures

Discrimination against women of color, let alone trans women of color is off the charts. I’m skeptical her super wholesome influencer profile makes any difference

I think this conversation has a simple conclusion; those that empathize with Jools should support them financially and otherwise. Those that don’t should move on.

The job Jools had before full time content creation was an hourly retail type job. Those jobs pay minimum wage and don’t often offer benefits. For her to earn the money she needs for her death through this avenue would take a significant amount of time and take away time for making content which is potentially/hopefullt more lucrative. I think that’s what she meant when she said that didn’t make sense. Everyone who’s mad about that is right to be mad, a full time regular retail job SHOULD help you pay for your dental work. That SHOULD be a solution but it’s not, not for anyone. Don’t be mad at her about that though. Be mad at corporate greed that makes it impossible for normal people to not be drowning under this shit.
