Guys i recommend mcm London, (if you can travel) it is more expensive but it’s better managed all around. Dcc is Ireland’s ‘biggest’ con but it’s always a let down in comparison

One thing I noticed is they make the lines for the guests really short because ‘they don’t want people blocking the door’ which I get to a degree but it’s ruining a lot of people’s chances to meet guests cuz they close the lines - The artists valley was so bad and there was AI, and the other sellers were expensive asf (which I understand to a degree) it also seems like a lot of the sellers struggled to get a table

im gonna be honest, some of the staff was super rude as well. got my photo taken in the proper photo shoot area (those people were all lovely) and me and my friends got yelled at for standing outside while we waited for our other friends. we were not in the way, trust me the hall was like empty but your man was so fecking rude to us. didnt ask us to move nicely just yelled telling us to leave 😭. did anyone else have a similar experience?

first went to it nearly 15 years ago, it's always been shite, used to be 20 euro in and still rammed, stalls are over priced and marked up crap from shops, it basically pay to watch the ads before the ads 😂

All the years I’ve been it has been fine to me all big conversations are obviously going to be busy and the artist alley in Dublin comic con has always been good too but I didn’t go this year but the artist alley are peoples own businesses not owned by comic con so the people that aren’t using ai worked so hard to make their art so obviously it would be expensive and most of the artists that would be living to make money

it was soooo overbooked, there had to be at least 2000-3000 overbooked tickets, other years didn't have queues that wrapped around two buildings.

I really recommend Megacon in RDS!! It’s also in Dublin but it’s really well spaced out and there’s actually lots of different fandom merch !! The artist alley today was so absurd i genuinely can’t believe how bad it was

Spring dcc was better this year, i keep seeing people say the artist alley was “bad” and the reason for that is actually because the event organisers got back to their applicants with really short notice so a lot of people that would usually vend at dcc couldnt make it!! They also completely changed the layout of the artist alley because spring dcc had so much space to walk around and had way more stalls

that was my first con and I really hope theyre not all like that, cus that was genuinely just a horrible experience, then again stuff happened which was no fault of the con which hindered my enjoyment

I couldn't go to this convention but I think the one in spring was great!! it was still pretty packed but it had a great panel but that's probably my biased opinion because it was red dead and I love red dead but it was way better then what I've seen others say about summer

I was there and the a.i ended me. I definitely suggest getting early admission me and my friend did and I was able to get the stuff I liked and looked at the arts and stuff with plenty of time and bearly any queues it was only the last hour I was there with my friend did it get to crowded and we went home
