My MIL thinks that because we’re having the baby shower at her house (which she forced to happen because she told my aunt, who is also hosting, I said it was okay) that she can invite whoever she wants even if I’ve never met them. She’s invited so many people that she told me I need to cut back on my guest list because there’s too many people in her house

My MIL keeps bringing up my mom that abandoned me when I was 7 when she’s mad at me. Mad at us for not using baby laundry detergent? “At least I stuck around unlike her mom.” Mad I took my baby back to hold him? “Have you told your mom about him? Oh I didn’t know you haven’t been in contact with her for over 20 years.”
