@whit.sells.westchester: One of the most overlooked costs of homeownership? Everything in your house is aging at the same time. 😬 The roof, windows, HVAC, appliances, water heater… none of them last forever. And this is something I want buyers to pay attention to, too. A house can be beautifully updated cosmetically while several of its major components are approaching the end of their expected lifespan. That doesn’t necessarily make it a bad house. It just means you should know what you may be spending money on next. When I’m looking at a property with buyers, I’m not just looking at what’s been renovated. I’m looking at what hasn’t. 🏡 Your Westchester County Top Realtor, Whitney Okun Licensed Real Estate Salesperson 917-848-9229 [email protected]
Those appliance life span is a dream. I’ve never had a dishwasher or washing machine make it more than 5 years.

Jokes on you. I bought a house from 1894, relocated it and remodeled it. Everything is brand new- and I put on a “forever roof”(one roof for its lifetime). It will now last another 50 years without repairs/replacements. This house will literally out live me.

Where do people get these ideas? 😂 Take care of our things properly and they will last.

My ac/furnace lasted 28 years before I had to replace. Still have the same kitchen appliances, garage door, water heater etc. they don’t make them like they used to!
