Hannah: Well I think a tomato is vegetable but some people say it’s a fruit, so it depends. D: What’s your opinion? Do you think a pickle is a fruit or a vegetable? There was a huge debate here, and a pickle is actually a fruit because it contains seeds, and it grows on a vine. But - it’s made from cucumbers, which are considered vegetables, so this spurred a huge debate that went all the way to the Supreme Court! They decided it was actually both! We were shocked! H: I didn’t realize how passionate people were about that argument! D: Yeah! I’m more passionate about beer, or.. I don’t know, hamburgers but pickles? H: Eh, I don’t care about pickles that much, so the fact it went to court? Wow! D: We both grew up in Pittsburgh… H: Yeah. D: Did your family eat a lot of pickles? H: My dad likes pickles. My sister sort of likes them but my mom and I don’t eat much of them. D: Do you like fried pickles… or… They have all kinds of things they’ve come up with. H: Fried pickles look like popcorn and I don’t mind those. I tried the pickle lemonade they have here today and it was very bitter! D: They have pickle lemonade?? Oof! We should go try it!
