After The Simpsons lasts longer than 40 seasons, it will have outlived John Lennon, Alexander Pushkin, Edgar Allan Poe, and Franz Kafka.

It is hitting the point where some of the voice actors may pass if they keep it going. Harry Shearer is 83 and Julie Kavner is about to turn 76. By season 41 they'll be 86 and 78. So if someone passes mid-season do they risk not ending it the way they want to or just keep it going with replacement VAs? it's one thing to replace Dr Hibbert but another to replace Marge or Burns/Smithers/Flanders/Skinner.

I hope the show can go as long as it can. I’d heard that Groening said they’ll stop if one of main cast members dies.
