@hayleydinae: I wish someone had told me that growth doesn’t always feel like progress. Sometimes you’re genuinely so proud of the person you’re becoming, and other times you’re crying over something you thought you were already over, questioning yourself, or wondering why you suddenly feel like you’re going backwards. I think we talk a lot about becoming a better version of yourself, but not enough about how uncomfortable it actually is to get there. Sometimes growth looks like feeling confident again, trying new things, laughing until your stomach hurts, and realizing you’re starting to feel like yourself again. And sometimes it looks like falling apart. Having days where you don’t understand why you feel the way you do. Having to remind yourself that just because you’re struggling that day doesn’t mean you haven’t made progress. Growth is such a rollercoaster. And I’m learning that having a setback doesn’t mean going back to square one. Healing and growing aren’t deadlines. I don’t have to have everything figured out just because I’ve already come so far. I can have hard days. I can miss old versions of myself. I can feel lost for a minute and still be moving forward. Becoming yourself again isn’t one big moment. It’s all the little moments where you slowly start choosing yourself, trusting yourself, relearning yourself, and falling back in love with the person you are. 🤍
