so where is the contraction? not everyone who calls on the name of the lord will be saved because some do not genuinely do so. Everyone who genuinely call on the name of the lord will be saved. The choice as to who is genuine belong to the Lord because he is all-knowing.

Read it this way.Those that the lord has chosen will be saved when they call on his name.Those the lord has not chosen who have decided not to follow christ will not be saved even if they call on God.The Holyspirit does the work of salvation not by works.So if you think by works amd calling on the lord you mistaken.By grace are u saved.
