People saying bs like “a man’s expected to take care of the family” that’s still not just. Both children should have the same expectations.

It’s almost as if you conveniently don’t mention the fact that a man is tasked with a financial provision which is why he inherits more

One search and u would have found the reason is cuz the woman’s share is just for herself she has no obligation to share it so that’s why it’s one share and a mans is twice bc he is obligated to provide for his family. If u properly researched Islamic inheritance law you’d find it’s the MOST fair bc it considers women unlike other systems at the time and even systems much later. So yes, Allah is indeed perfectly just, no debate about that 💯

that’s crazy. how do you feel about the laws that also place responsibilities on men, such as being financially responsible for their families, or even providing servants for their wives if that was the norm in the culture she was raised in? thats also found im books of fiqh/ jurisprudence

Does the man have to provide for his family or the sister so does it make sense that she gets more even tho she is provided by her male family members

the reason why a male often receives a larger share of inheritance is that men bear the absolute legal obligation to provide for the family. meanwhile a woman is not obligated to provide for her family and keep in mind a woman will also receive inheritance from her husband’s side. also it’s not always absolute that a daughter receives less inheritance because a father still has the right to divide the inheritance equally if he wanted to. inequality doesn’t always mean injustice .

This is such a highly ignorant take 🫩 i get what u mean about the gender equality but this is literally explained as an obligation for a man to provide and share it with his family while a women doesnt have to

What about the fact, That when a woman inherits her parents, her husband has 0 share or right over her money, when she marries her husband has 0 rights over the Mehr money, But the woman has complete rights over her husband's money. Compare that to a man, whose wife has rights over the money he inherits, he has no right over the money she earns prior to the marriage, She has right over the money he had prior to the marriage? What about the fact that when a brother dies, his brother inherits him, if the second brother dies, the money goes to the mother. Do you see any man complaining that he has no right over his wife's inheritance, he has no right over her mehr, he doesn't get the inheritance back from his children? Under marriage, a woman is not obliged to spend her money on her children, the father is obliged to spend money. With all due respect to you, women at the time of the Prophet did not have jobs nor did they desire such modernist equality. Islam is designed to create a balance in society, If you have a balance with 2 plates, one is heavier than the other, you wouldn't put the same amount of bricks on each plate in order to balance it.

Equality=/= equity, men have the obligation to provide money, clothes, housing, food, for their wife and ALL of their kids, even the ones from a woman they divorced. Women don't have that obligation, even if they're richer than the husband they can't be forced to contribute financially

Oh maybe just MAYBEEE because in islam when a woman, her father and mother dies, her brother is OBLIGATED to take care of her so thats why he has twice her share because he spends it on her while her share is hers only

The daughter inherits less because her husband provides for her. Also the money she inherits is entirely hers. The son inherits more because he is Islamically obligated to spend it on his family.

What’s mine is mine, and I can spend my money however I want. But my brother has a bigger share because he’s responsible for providing for the family and making sure everyone is okay. That responsibility is why he gets double what I get.

I’m starting to think that Muslims like this are lowkey Islamophobic or want to push Islamophobia for views rather than just doing a quick search to find out the actual reason why. It could also be doubts they have and they’re seeking validation from others who are feeling like them rather than actually looking for the answer. Like education is free, but sure let me post bait for views for other ignorant individuals to hop onto rather than educating myself and going to appropriate sources to ask questions if I’m genuinely curious why this is the case. Questions are encouraged in Islam, but you can tell when an individual is actually looking for an answer or not.

It’s not simply “he gets more because he’s a man.” In Islamic law men are given more financial responsibilities, such as providing for their wife and children. A woman’s inheritance belongs to her and she isn’t required to use it to support her family. so the difference in inheritance is connected to financial responsibility, not because men are considered more valuable than women.

The man has obligations, like providing for the entire household, therefore he needs more money to provide. I don’t hear you complain when woman can ask whatever amount of mehr they want.
