I've seen a bunch of these types of holes and glasses growing up throughout my life. I always thought they were bullet holes as well. Some are some are not apparently.

it's from a BB or a rock thrown just right. basically something with mass, but that only contacted the window at one tiny point, so it blows out shards of glass if it didn't make it through.

That was a BB gun or pellet gun hole from the outside that’s why the glass is chunked out of the back and a nice clean hole on the outside

My husband was a cop for 39 years. He says he thinks it’s a 9mm or above, although he said it depends on if the bullet went thru any walls or not.

Bb or pebble, it struck the outside. They make that crater on the back side

Have one that’s identical. Always thought pellet rifle. Eventually I watched a bluejay give me a matching one right next to it years later. Found out it was territorial birds

😂 maybe a bb or pellet gun shot from the outside. The cone shape on the inside is where the glass spalled

It's a small stone from the street, this is especially common. If you have buses or other heavy vehicles. I manage a property right in front of a bus stop, we would get three or four of these a year before putting a ballistic film on the windows.

If you are standing outside of the building, that is an impact cone from an object hitting the outside of the window. In almost all cases, it’s a stone flung from a weed eater.

rusty spoon :
The tip of the cone is where the force originated, moving towards the base of the cone. So something went from outside to the inside. The initial impact blew out the back of the window in a cone shape.

Is there grass nearby? That’s an outside projection. If there was no bullet casing or bullet hole inside it’s probably a rock a lawnmower hit.
