Yea 300$ in materials, paper , tape , paint , body wash , plastic . I been a body man for 30 years and a complete bumper paint with no R&I’s will certainly result in peeling around all the edges. You did a clean job masking tho .

Mr. Dave :
Not comparable jobs. The body shop is pulling the bumper and de-trimming because it’s warranted for lifetime. You’re not doing warranty work you’re doing quick lot fixes, nothing wrong with that but it’s inherently less durable long term.

Before I judge did you put the adhesive promotor on it and primed it after and then base coated it? Because if you seriously just only put adhesive and base coat that’s a big no no 😐

you get what you pay for 😅 a good body shop will remove bumper and disassemble all the bumper and paint all bumper

No hate but do local ordinances allow for spraying outside? Body shop is $800 because they’re following proper procedures, have proper equipment, licensing and insurance. The cost of doing business legally and ethically must be pasted on to the consumer.

With tape, masking paper, plastic car cover,, paint and clear. I just don’t see much profit here… hopefully that blend line doesn’t show up in about three months either

The body shop would have taken it off and removed all the grilles. In other words they would have done it right

I can only assume they got a quote to do it correctly by pulling the bumper off😂 I guess it’s at least Hackery at its finest

question, did you scuff where you clear coated outside of the scratch sanding? You didn't show it in the video but don't want to assume you didn't. But if you didn't then most likely will not adhere and flake off later.
