Is it true that you can never be sentenced to more than a year for a misdemeanor, since anything more than that ends up in felony territory? I believe it’s that way in my state but I wonder if it’s universal?

she had a surety bond on that form. Typically for a 1st offense misdemeanor assault it would be conditional discharge time but depends on the situation
